Project Updates

A veritable potpourri this time Under Distant Suns!

First off, the Lead Rot Project: I think I am going to declare Tactical Victory, if not Strategic. There was still a tiny amount of lead rot on two figures, but I scraped it off. After sitting for a week, everything looks good. A couple of pics of certain problem children:

The Grenadier Kneeling Cleric, looking sharp! He is now primed.

One of the Space Dudes. Looks like he did in 1978! He is now primed, too.

So that whole batch of figs is primed now and, hopefully, protected against more insidious lead rot. Victory!

Also doing some painting recently while messing with the lead rot refugees. These guys just got completed:

We’ve got three bards/musicians in the left hand corner, including a colonial drummer, from Heritage, I believe, to keep some rhythm. Beside them are two ladies, a summoner and a warrior, both from Grenadier. Top right are three drow from Asgard miniatures, contemporary recasts from the guy who has their molding rights. Three thieves lower left – maybe some of Edge’s recruits in Greywater? Then a psycho cultist in the middle bottom row – are there more of them in the future? Finally three clerics, some of the replacements we will see for the church of Mithras.

Got some more on the table, not sure how far I will push the painting right now.

Writing has been hit or miss lately – that is probably the basis for another post, but I am having some problems developing good story from the idea stage. Cry me a river, eh?

Finishing the newest issue of Tales From the Magician’s Skull. Should have a review in the next week. After that, I’ll tackle The Best Of Heroic Fantasy Quarterly Volume 3.

The next issue of the Greywater Chronicles is probably about two weeks out. All the miniature work put me behind, but I’ll still have a March issue out.

I hope you are all well!
