Greywater Chronicles Issue 11

Been on a roll with the Chronicles, almost one a week for 5 issues now. The next one should follow shortly, as well.

A lot less violence this time; the issue went in the direction of plot and character development, and cool terrain. I have a feeling we’ll make up for it next issue!

  1. Great report ! Always look forward to reading/seeing these.
1 question which rules are you using to play?
    thanks

    1. Hello, Jason,

Thanks for the kind comment! Glad you are enjoying these. The next one should be up in a couple of days.

I am using a variation on the old Fantasy Trip rules. They are called Legends of the Ancient World, and available (for free) at darkcitygames.com. Very short, I think we are up to 8 pages now, but heavily house-ruled, which they lend themselves to. Fair warning, I am a partner there! Not trying to talk you into buying anything, though!

Thanks again for the kind words. I hope you enjoy issue #12!

      1. Thanks
I have HOW, TFT and LAW.
Just waiting to get back to work again so I can order some Dark City adventures.

        1. Hey Jason,

We have talked off and on over the years about releasing a more detailed rule set, even getting a committee going back in 2012 or 2013. What we quickly learned was that everybody, including George and I, wanted to include our pet house rules, some of which were incompatible with one another. So we have decided to keep the simple rules for LAW as they are, and encourage people to change them as they will. That was kinda the mindset back in the early days of D&D, when everybody had their own rules to fill it out. And, honestly, I change my house rules over time, too.

HOW is a pretty cool rule set, that takes things even further away from TFT. Chris Brandon (he wrote Wolves on the Rhine for us) is working on a new rules set called Blades and Black Magic, which I have not seen yet. Not sure how radically he will change things from HOW.

Thanks for your support, here on my blog and for our company!

          Bret
