The Third Issue of the Greywater Chronicles…

Hello, all,

The third issue has been delayed because of technical issues in the upgrade from the trial version to the bought-and-paid for version of Comic Life 3. The serial number does not seem to unlock the registration process. I have been in communication with plasq to resolve this issue, and hopefully it will be taken care of in a couple of day. I really like the software, and want to get it resolved.

Thanks, and I’ll have another update when things are fixed.

I’ll also be posting an update later today when The Fantasy Trip Kickstarter goes live.

Coming Soon: A Serialized S&S Novel

One of the things I wondered about before starting up this blog was the wisdom of publishing my fiction on it. There are, unsurprisingly, differing viewpoints on it around the web. The main opinion for, is that people can read your writing and you can build a following that way. The main argument against, is that when you put your fiction on the web, it is “published” and you can never sell that fiction again for First Publication Rights (i.e. the best possible rates). As someone who would love to make a living from writing, it poses a bit of a dilemma. Continue reading “Coming Soon: A Serialized S&S Novel”

Keep On Rockin’ in the Free World

Been a while since my last post! I’ve got a lot of ideas, still putting them together.

But I have been painting a bit, too. These are old Ral Partha sculpts, recently brought back into production by Ironwind Metals. 12 skeleton archers, 12 skeleton warriors, 12 goblin warriors, three elves, and a wizard. These (and many more) will soon show up in the Greywater Chronicles.

Speaking of which – Issue 3 is delayed at the printer! Hopefully by this weekend…

Anyway, I hope you are all well, and thanks for looking!

The Fantasy Trip

When Steve Jackson re-acquired the rights to the Fantasy Trip, lost when he parted ways Metagaming, he made it clear there would be a Kickstarter for Melee and Wizard. Melee was the combat module for TFT, Wizard was the magic rulebook. The Kickstarter is scheduled for July 23rd.

Our company, Dark City Games, made a clone of Melee/Wizard back in 2005, when the games had been out of print for over 20 years, and made programmed adventures similar to the old Microquests. This puts us in a bit of an odd position, and we are not sure where we stand with Steve Jackson Games now. He had mentioned on his forums the possibility of buying our adventures, but that was five or six months ago and we have not heard from him since.

At any rate, we are still publishing adventures for our bastardized version of TFT called Legends of the Ancient World. I also intend to support the re-launched TFT on Kickstarter. I hope you all do as well!

Hail!

This site is about my Sword & Sorcery writing, reading, and gaming. I hope you like what you see! There will be much more when I figure out how to work this thing. Thanks for stopping by!
